Yes, this is another entry in the All Day series. Technically, the All Night black IPA wasn't named quite right, but I think we all know what was going on when they thought of the name, right? Well, this one isn't confusing with the name - it's going to have grapefruit, and that is what will distinguish it from its stablemates. I see what you're doing, and I'm fine with it.
First sip is a good flavor, but it comes across as fairly caustic. I'm not sure if there is too much carbonation in here, too much citrus, or something else. But the rather bright grapefruit flavor added to a relatively quaffable beer has resulted in a very good flavor that can't get around the rest of the beer. I'm not sure how the rest of this review is going to go.
Tip in is very citrusy with the grapefruit right up front, but it doesn't bring nearly as much of the tartness that grapefruits are known to have. This one has had sugar put on it to give it a nice, easy going vibe. The middle sends loud carbonation to the roof of the mouth while the subtle flavors are not entirely lost as they are flowing through the center of the mouth. The finish is a bitter swing with the sweetness all but disappearing as grapefruit is left on the lips.
