The last one was a little... weak. It was a shame, as I really like a good cider. Prosecco is a word I have heard before, and I thought it a kind of white wine. After (for once) bothering to look it up, it is, in fact, white wine. Specifically, it is a white wine produced in Italy, and it is named after a village in one of the provinces where the wine is produced. Is it generic enough that Bold Rock won't get sued? Who can say for sure.
Well, it is a lot darker than the other cider. But, that doesn't mean it's dark. It's just a few more shades of yellow that have been added to the water of the last one. However, this has a lot more carbonation. The head comes out a lot faster, and there are so many more points of nucleation that I can scarcely count them. The aroma is very, very faint, but I think I smell pear skins.
First sip is... wait. It makes me look at the label again. You know, you can just say you made the cider out of pears, and not apples, right? Because I don't taste any apples, and I taste nothing but pears. I know that apple juice is commonly the main ingredient in other juices that you buy at the store, and it's because apple juice concentrate has very little actual flavor. The apples in this have none.
Tip-in is mild carbonation tingle with pears and maybe a glimpse of an apple. The middle raises the sweetness and carbonation a bit, but the pears are kind of watery and the apple is gone completely. The finish is more sweetness as apples finally really show up to sit alongside pears for the trail off.
